Overview:
This is a national clinical registry and DNA biobank of pediatric morphea. The goal is to define the natural history of pediatric-onset morphea and identify genes and pathways involved in its development.
Status:
This study was partially-funded by a 2012 SPD Weston Career Development Award. A clinical registry has been established at the Medical College of Wisconsin to prospectively characterize pediatric morphea and study disease activity, treatment response, and quality of life. Genetic material has been collected from some patients, and next generation sequencing techniques used to identify genetic contributors to disease. There are currently four participating sites, and more sites are being sought. Participation in biospecimen collection is optional for participating sites.
