Overview:
This study aims to better characterize pediatric cutaneous mastocytosis through a retrospective and prospective clinical evaluation of patients over 20 years. Specifically we are evaluating the natural history of progression or resolution; associated symptoms; markers of severity, symptoms or progression; and other associated disorders. Using interviews, questionnaires, and physical exam, information is collected every 1-2 years on qualified patients with 5 or more skin lesions diagnostic of urticaria pigmentosa with onset prior to age 15 years.
Status:
Currently there are six sites with IRB approval and data use agreements in place. A manuscript is being prepared for publication and prospective data collection will continue.
