Overview
Pediatric vulvar conditions, such as vulvar lichen sclerosus, are underdiagnosed and suboptimally managed due to insufficient training and awareness among healthcare providers. Early recognition and treatment are important for preventing complications such as scarring, pain, and irreversible anatomical changes. This study aims to identify provider perspectives, comfort, and challenges in diagnosing and managing pediatric vulvar conditions. A brief survey will be disseminated electronically via REDCap to pediatric dermatologists, gynecologists, and other providers who care for pediatric patients. The survey will assess providers’ comfort levels, training experiences, and perceived barriers to care, as well as evaluate the extent of multidisciplinary collaboration in addressing these conditions. Deidentified responses will be analyzed to determine associations, challenges, and areas of opportunity for improvement. We hope the findings will inform the development of educational resources and/or guidelines to improve provider competency and increase awareness.
