June 20, 2024 – Seven trainees have been awarded 2024 PeDRA Research Fellowships to conduct one year of mentored research under the guidance of a senior investigator in the field of pediatric dermatology. PeDRA continues its annual investment in this competitive program, with a total contribution of $160,000 across the seven projects in 2024.

2024 PeDRA Research Fellowships
- Kennedy Gallagher will conduct a project titled “Using Dupilumab to Improve Circadian Function, Sleep and Pruritus in Children with Moderate/Severe Atopic Dermatitis” under the mentorship of Amy Paller, MD at Northwestern University.
- Elizabeth Garcia Creighton will conduct a project titled “Developing an Acne Patient Decision Aid with and for Hispanic Teenagers” under the mentorship of Lucinda Kohn, MD, MHS at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
- Robyn Guo will conduct a project titled “Drug Survival of Biologics in Pediatric Patients with Hidradenitis Suppurativa seen at Duke, MGH and UMass Memorial Health” under the mentorship of Daniela Kroshinsky, MD, MSPH at Duke University School of Medicine.
- Sarah Kamsiah Zemlok will conduct a project titled “Assessment of Parent-Child Comprehension of Pediatric Patch Testing and Barriers to Improvement” under the mentorship of Jeff Yu, MD at Massachusetts General Hospital.
- Daniel Liu will conduct a project titled “Defining predictive noninvasive biomarkers for pediatric atopic dermatitis patients” under the mentorship of Emma Guttman-Yassky, MD, PhD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
- Rebecca Urbonas will conduct a project titled “Long-Term Management of Systemic Treatments for Pediatric Atopic Dermatitis: A Pilot Clinical Trial and Multi-Center Registry Development” under the mentorship of Joy Wan, MD, MSCE at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
- Courtney Smith will conduct a project titled “Acne incidence and treatment in transgender adolescents: a multi-center, validated cohort study” under the mentorship of Howa Yeung, MD, MSc at Emory University School of Medicine.
