Career Bridge Research Grant

February 19, 2026 – Together with its partners, PeDRA is pleased to recognize the recipients of several competitive 2025 grant programs that advance research to improve the lives of children affected by skin disease. Eleven investigators received funding through 2025 PeDRA Research Grants, the Career Bridge Research Grant, the Consensus Grant Program, the Pediatric Ichthyosis Challenge Grant, the Pediatric Alopecia Areata Challenge Grant, the Childhood Eczema Challenge Grant, and the William Weston Career Development Award.

Research Grants are given to support early-stage research projects to lay the foundation for larger-scale studies in the future, while the Career Bridge Research Grant is intended to support one mid-career investigator in the conduct of an innovative research study in the field of pediatric dermatology. Consensus Grants provide support for the creation of consensus guidelines, best practice recommendations, or consensus treatment plans for diseases in pediatric dermatology. Through the Pediatric Ichthyosis Challenge Grant, the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types (FIRST) and PeDRA intend to advance a high-impact research endeavor relevant to pediatric patients and families facing the burden of ichthyosis and related conditions. The Pediatric Alopecia Areata Challenge Grant, offered in partnership with the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF), supports research investigations focused on pediatric alopecia areata. The Childhood Eczema Challenge Grant, supported in partnership with the National Eczema Association (NEA), is intended for early or mid-career scientists to accelerate research that improves the health and quality of life of pediatric eczema patients and their families. Run in partnership with the Society for Pediatric Dermatology (SPD), the William Weston Career Development Award aims to support an early-career investigator in the conduct of an innovative research study under the direction of a senior mentor.
