Overview
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) are both uncommon skin conditions caused by uncontrolled inflammation. HS can be found in up to 2% of the Western population, with one-third of these cases occurring in children. PG is even more rare, affecting only 0.00063% of the general population, with less than 5% of cases occurring in children. In adults, there seems to be a connection between these two conditions with some case series reporting on patients presenting with both conditions. So far, there is little information about children who have both conditions.
We plan to describe pediatric patients with HS who have also been diagnosed with PG to better understand any connection and how to treat each one when present in the same patient.
