10th Year
TOP 10:

PRESIDENT’S LETTER
Dear Friends,
What you’ve probably heard by now, is that 2022 marked PeDRA’s 10th year as an organization and the start of my term as PeDRA President. What you may not have heard is that 2022 was also the first full year of operation under our most recent list of strategic priorities, which were defined by the PeDRA Board of Directors with expert help in 2021. These priorities boil down to (1) catalyzing and sustaining research through infrastructure and education, (2) building and sustaining community with a place for all stakeholders, and (3) fostering communication both to and from PeDRA.
While not everything we did in 2022 fit cleanly into one of these three bins, I think you’ll find that our activities and impact over the past year line up beautifully with these priorities. More than that, they demonstrate PeDRA’s creativity in responding to a changing landscape and its deep-seated commitment to pursuing its mission and achieving its vision despite uncertain times. 2022 was the first year that PeDRA has ever run a deficit. Yet we still invested in new grants and fellowships, offered new education, hired new staff, and hosted an unforgettable annual conference. Good times or bad, PeDRA is proud to serve as a rock of consistency to its membership and beacon of hope to patients in need.
That was heavy; now, let’s take a look at something lighter. For the 2022 Annual Report, we’ve summed up PeDRA’s accomplishments as a “top 10 list” to honor our 10th year. Please spend some time exploring the ins and outs of how PeDRA used the resources we are so grateful to have received, in pursuit of its mission to create, inspire, and sustain research to prevent, treat, and cure childhood skin disease.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication as part of the PeDRA community. I look forward to building the next 10, 100, and 1,000 highlights with you through 2023 and beyond.
Most sincerely,
