December 19, 2024 – Following a multi-month process of discussion and information gathering, PeDRA has defined a set of strategic priorities to guide programs, activities, and investments for the next three years:
Elevate Research Impact
- Prioritize patient-centric research through meaningful engagement and the pursuit of meaningful outcomes.
- Support the efficient completion of research studies and clinical trials of any size or scope.
- Evolve resources, infrastructure, and education to best support projects and investigators.
- Harness innovation and technology in pursuit of the PeDRA mission.
Strengthen Community
- Cultivate openness to increase participation of patients, parents, basic scientists, advanced practice providers, trainees, and clinicians from diverse disciplines.
- Attract, retain, and expand a capable and diverse pediatric dermatology research workforce at all career stages.
- Advance membership, funding, and collaborations to raise awareness, facilitate access to novel research, and engage the underserved.
These priorities align with PeDRA’s mission to create, inspire, and sustain research to prevent, treat, and cure childhood skin disease, vision of changing lives and healing children through collaboration and discovery, and core values defined in 2023. Furthermore, these priorities reflect PeDRA’s position as a trusted and evolving resource in and beyond the pediatric dermatology and foundation for research, education, and advocacy.
