Morphea is a complex condition that mainly affects children and lacks a good way to measure disease activity. This impacts the timing and choice of treatment and whether patients get better or not. Dr. Garcia-Romero and Dr. Chiu will work with expert pediatric dermatologists and patients to build and test a new tool to measure morphea disease activity. In the end, the tool will help patients and pediatric dermatologists around the world to make the best possible treatment decisions.
This study was funded through the 2018 PeDRA Research Hot Seat -A PeDRA Shark Tank. The project is currently underway with an in-person meeting planned for early 2020.
